Frequently asked questions

Q. How much does your furniture cost?

A. It varies dramatically. I have had the odd enquiry where people expect Ikea prices or a bank of wardrobes for £1500.00. Unfortunately I am unable to offer one off bespoke furniture for these sorts of prices. A very rough guide can be found here, but do get in touch as I may be able to provide a more specific estimate based on your exact requirements.

Q. Do you make a site visit following our enquiry?

A. No. Unfortunately I receive too many enquiries. If I visited you all, I wouldn’t get any work done! It would also entail a lot of driving around which goes against my environmental policy. Following your enquiry I will indicate the estimated costs where possible by email. I am also happy to discuss your project on the telephone too so do get in touch. Q. Do you offer a free design service?

A. No, unlike high street suppliers whose offerings are from standard ranges of furniture, everything I make is bespoke and tailored to your needs. The design process can take a fair amount of time and is charged for. For a more detailed description of my commissioning process, click here.

Q. How soon can you make our furniture?

A. It all depends on my schedule and the scope of your project. I am typically booked up anywhere from four to twelve weeks in advance and sometimes longer. Design work can take a fair time to complete and then there is the time it actually takes to make and install your furniture; eight to twelve weeks isn’t unusual. The best thing you can do is work out a realistic idea of your lead times and then contact me to discuss availability. Remember, I don’t have cupboards waiting on shelves. It is all made to order.

Q. Is your furniture environmentally friendly?

A. Timber is one of the more sustainable natural materials as it is relatively quick to re grow. As with any business however, my work will have an impact on the environment. I am passionate about operating an ethical, responsible and sustainable business though and you can see some of the things I am doing about it here.
